Baltimore Book Festival Showcases WC Writers

September 23-25, 2005

Washington College made its second appearance at the annual Baltimore Book Festival—right under the Washington Monument!—with a booth featuring the works of alumni and faculty authors. Saturday, September 24, featured booksignings by alumna Kristina Henry '88, author of Sam: The Tale of a Chesapeake Bay Rockfish (Tidewater Publishers, 1997), Professor Michael Harvey, author of The Nuts & Bolts of College Writing (Hackett, 2003), and novelist Benjamin Anastas, author of An Underachiever's Diary (Dial Press, 1998) and Interim Director of the O'Neill Literary House.

On Sunday, September 25, alumni David Healey '88, author of the newly released 1812: Rediscovering the Chesapeake Bay's Forgotten War (BellaRosa Books, 2005), and poet Meredith Davies Hadaway M'96, author of the collection Fishing Secrets of the Dead (Word Press, 2005), gave public readings at the Festival's City Lit Stage.
