Pat Ingersoll Lab Dedication

April 21, 2006

Washington College officially dedicated the Pat Ingersoll Laboratory, made possible through the generous donations of her family. Pat's brother, Byam Stevens, her children, and her nephews and niece worked together to provide a fitting tribute to a remarkable woman who has given so generously to Washington College.

"As many of you know, Pat has been a great friend to the College since graduating as a non-traditional student in 1971, contributing to nearly every 'cause' we've undertaken," remarked President Tipson at the dedication. "Her husband, Dan, and his brother, Gil, were also Washington College graduates. Pat served as an alumni representative on the Board of Visitors and Governors between 1993 and 1999, and received the 1998 Alumni Service Award. We have benefited tremendously over the years from her enthusiasm for the work of the College, and her particular interest in the academic environment and the programs that enrich our students college experience."

The new laboratory will function as the Psychology Department's "cognition laboratory" in the newly renovated Dunning/Decker Science Complex and will be used by Professor George Spilich and students to conduct research on Alzheimer's disease and examine other conditions that affect human memory.
