Students Explore Museum Careers at The Walters

Six students from Washington College visited The Walters Art Museum in Baltimore where they met informally with staff members from the Marketing, Educational and Curatorial Divisions. During the two-hour visit they heard first hand about various aspects of working in the museum field and were given the opportunity to inquire with museum professionals about their educational backgrounds and career experiences.
The visit to The Walters was one of six employer site visits during the winter break sponsored by SLAC, the Selective Liberal Arts Colleges Consortium, of which all three Washington College Career Center staff are members. Ann Atwater Bourne, '78, M '06, Program Director for Employer Relations, Events and Outreach coordinated the visit to The Walters in a continuing effort to offer more Career Center programs for students in the arts. Bourne, Career Center Director, Dr. Linda Cades and Art Department Chair, Dr. Donald McColl, accompanied the students for the session.
Other Employer Site Visits this January included Agora Publishing, Weber Shandwick Worldwide, BD Diagnostics, Chesapeake Bay Foundation and Marriott International.
