Chemistry of the Environment Hybrid Emissions Study

February 9, 2007

Assistant Professor of Chemistry Leslie Sherman led her Chemistry of the Environment class outside the John S. Toll Science Center on a cold winter morning to sample the emissions of a Toyota Prius. The course centers around chemical dimensions of current environmental problems such as global warming, ozone depletion, water and soil contamination, and non-renewable fuel consumption.

Students used special syringes to capture exhaust from the parked car.
