Phi Beta Kappa Luncheon
February 22, 2008
The Theta of Maryland Chapter of Phi Beta
Kappa hosted a series of small luncheons to welcome the three honorees of
the Annual Washington's Birthday Convocation: Civil Rights activist
Gloria Richardson, former Senator Birch Bayh and Pulitzer Prize-winning
historian Taylor Branch. All three guests received honorary degrees later
that day at the convocation ceremony.
Over the course of the lunches, Mrs. Richardson, Senator Bayh, and Mr.
Branch shared their reflections about Civil Rights in America with student
