Greenberg discusses "Swish" (Bill Nicholson) in more detail, explaining his journey from Chestertown High, to Washington College, to the Chicago Cubs in the 1940s. Greenberg, who works as a judge in Montgomery County, Maryland, prided Nicholson as "perhaps the greatest slugger in the game" at that time.

Mark Millikin, the second speaker, takes the podium to discuss his book Jimmie Fox: the Pride of Sudlersville. Millikin said that Foxx, who played for the Queen Anne's County All Stars in 1923 and then went on to play for the Philadelphia A's and the Red Sox, was one of the greatest sluggers in Major League Baseball during his 1925 to 1945 career, when he was once second in home runs only to Babe Ruth.

Millikin explains that, though he has published journal articles related to his work as a fishery manager, the process of writing long-form nonfiction was quite different. He said he was impressed with how friendly Eastern shore locals were, but he was frustrated in his search for facts when he came across several versions of the same story while doing research.
