Three of the student group organizers, Carin Janet '09, Tricia Bonman '09, and Jordan Larigan '11, set up toppings for the ice cream social on Martha Washington Square. WAC Fast was a group project for Dr.
Christine Wade's Human Rights and Social Justice course.

Alisha and Tricia announce that their group has raised $1,181 for Heifer International. About 126 people signed the pledge, with 95 donations and 85 participating in the fast.

Carin said of their project, "The money that we raised will go towards two cows, a goat, and some chickens I believe. I'm not sure if we will find who it goes to, but I know a deserving family will receive the livestock and volunteers of Heifer will actually go to the villages and teach the family how to maintain the animals and how to produce food from them."
